The World’s Best Analog Section and Converters… Full Stop.
After hundreds of comparison tests made by some of the world’s most “golden eared” engineers, we can say this with a strong sense of confidence.
The Networked Audio range of converters brings Swiss-precision and un-ending attention to detail in every single component and signal path and results in the most astonishing of record and reproduction signal paths of any audio interface or converter available today.
The new Meyer Cinema line has arrived.
At the heart of Meyer Sound’s EXP line of products is the Acheron high-performance screen channel loudspeaker. Optimized for installation behind perforated screens, the two-way loudspeaker combines the advantages of self-powered technology and innovative horn design to deliver exceptional, precise coverage for the left, right, and center sound channels for cinema.
Designed and manufactured at Meyer Sound’s headquarters in Berkeley, California, the Acheron Studio’s drivers include one 15-inch low-frequency cone driver and one high-frequency 4-inch diaphragm compression driver. Both drivers yield uncompromising quality and full bandwidth and are powered by sophisticated onboard amplification. The proprietary Meyer Sound power amplifier is a two-channel, class AB/bridged amplifier with complementary MOSFET output stages that yields a total output of 700 W (1,400 W peak). Built-in signal processing includes an electronic crossover and correction filters — to achieve a flat phase and frequency response — along with driver protection circuitry. The self-powered design not only ensures consistent results but also simplifies installation in both new and existing rooms.
Overall monitor system control is extremely useful in a 2.1 system and essential in a surround system. Blue Sky’s new Audio Management Controller (AMC) builds on our previous-generation Bass Management Controller, and adds many new capabilities. The AMC provides precise, centralized control over levels, balance, mute, selection of house curves, and various other system configuration settings. The AMC is fitted with a big weighted “old-school” rotary control for primary adjustments as well as additional hardware controls via lighted buttons, and a large display screen. The AMC is an 8-channel DSP-based system and supports configurations up to 7.1. Any input can be routed to any output and multiple inputs can be mixed and routed to any outputs. Each channel features 1/3 octave EQ, 8 bands of parametric EQ and filters, and variable delay for time alignment. Other features include 8 system presets (EQ curves, etc.), lip sync delay, 7.1 bass management with variable cutoff frequency per channel, and an externally-accessible mute input.
The Bass Channel has a 10 band parametric equalizer. The Digital inputs have a built-in sample rate converter, which can be bypassed in Pure-Digital mode for 48 kHz/96 kHz operation. The Digital I/O is AES/EBU 110 ohm balanced transformer coupled. Analog I/O is balanced, and nominal input levels are selectable between +4dBu and -6dBu.
The M3G is unique in that it is not just another SDI De-Embedder, it is a complete monitoring solution for SDI audio. It allows for easy multi-channel audio monitoring—such as surround sound or multiple-language dialog tracks—to external monitor speakers without having to piece together a system using discrete de-embedders, analog level controllers, mixers, etc. The M3G does it all in one easy-to-use solution. The built-in output module slot allows additional capabilities to be added easily, for example, adding AES outputs to drive digital monitor speakers.
The M3G monitors embedded audio from any ancillary audio group present in a SMPTE SD/HD/3G SDI video stream. Up to eight channels of audio from any two groups may be monitored efficiently using the front panel, or add up to 16 channels to the monitor mix from four groups simultaneously using the remote GUI and automation API.
We are proud to be working with Minnetonka Audio as integration partners for their powerful ATS server system. This modular system can fit into any number of workflow scenarios, and handle audio processing in the background, leaving more time for mixers and engineers to do the fun stuff.
AudioTools Server (ATS) is a modular platform for adding audio–related processing, quality control, and management to video-centric workflows within existing asset production systems. With à la carte options such as SurCode for Dolby E, SurCode for Dolby Digital Plus, SurCode for Dolby Pro Logic II, loudness measurement and control, watermarking, file validation, transcoding and quality control, AudioTools Server is designed to be the audio hub for defined processes orchestrated by each user’s choice of Workflow Management. ATS is not designed to replace asset production systems. Rather, AudioTools Server augments, improves and extends in–place systems, serving as the foundation of an optimized asset production workflow.
Media Meter standalone application
Dolby Media Meter V2
Dolby® Media Meter 2, like the original Dolby Media Meter software tool, accurately and objectively measures loudness as viewers subjectively experience it.
New features include:
- User-selectable measurement algorithms, including LEQ(M), ITU1770 or LEQ(A) based measurement
-True Peak, and Dialogue Range measurements
- A high-quality peak limiter.
- Level meters
- Real time graphing function
- Warning(alarm) settings with user-selectable function and threshold
As with the original, Dolby Media Meter 2 features user-selectable Dialogue Intelligence™ technology that detects and measures loudness only during the presence of speech.
Dolby Media Meter 2 runs as a Mac® or Windows® stand-alone application, as a Digidesign® Pro Tools® AudioSuite or RTAS plug-in, and as a VST plug-in for such popular programs as Nuendo and Fairlight. It can also run as a Mac-only AU for Apple® software. Dolby Media Meter 2 supports measurement of Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby E, and PCM audio formats. All versions of Media Meter 2 can produce and save log files.

Dolby Media Meter
Dolby has released the Media Meter, a great way to accurately determine Dialnorm levels from within your DAW.
With Dolby® Media Meter, Dolby adds to its lineup of unique and innovative tools that accurately and objectively measure loudness as viewers subjectively experience it. Dolby Media Meter features Dialogue Intelligence™ technology, adopted from the award-winning Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer, that automatically detects and then measures loudness only during the presence of speech in an audio track. Dolby Media Meter measures loudness using the ITU-R BS.1770-1 algorithm, and measurements can be done either with or without Dialogue Intelligence.
Dolby Media Meter runs as a Mac® or Windows® stand-alone application, as a Digidesign® Pro Tools® AudioSuite or RTAS plug-in, and as a plug-in for Minnetonka AudioTools™ AWE. Dolby Media Meter supports measurement of Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby E, and PCM audio formats. All versions of Dolby Media Meter can produce and save log files.
Used as a stand-alone product, Digidesign AudioSuite plug-in, and Minnetonka AudioTools AWE plug-in, Dolby Media Meter is a faster-than-real-time, file-based measurement application.* This is useful for DVD and Blu-ray Disc™ mastering, and for program creation and quality control applications in audio production, postproduction, and broadcast facilities.
As a Pro Tools RTAS plug-in, Dolby Media Meter measures loudness in real time, so that users can track levels during the mixing process to help meet network delivery requirements. The RTAS plug-in can simultaneously display short- and long-term loudness levels that are based on the level of dialogue in the mix.
